La Grande Cani and La Petite Cani, two fairly flat islets, are located five miles north of Cape Zebib and Bizerte. The larger island is topped by a beautiful 18-meter-high lighthouse built around 1860; it was the second lighthouse in Tunisia, after the one in Sidi Bou Saïd. Today, it is a popular destination for boaters and divers who come to explore the rich, shallow-water underwater landscape and the small caves that dot the island.
