January 21, 2011: A police officer gives interviews to the international press in which he explains how they were required to follow orders, attempting to justify and apologize for the actions taken by the police during Ben Ali’s dictatorship. Demonstration on Kasbah Square in front of the gates of the Prime Minister’s Office, the people, united as one, demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Ghanouchi. This demonstration saw a spontaneous movement among police officers, some of whom decided to join the people in protesting while apologizing for all their actions during Ben Ali’s police state.
