March 12, 2011: In the Rotonde’s main hall, under the watchful eye of Farhat Hached (a giant portrait) at the UGTT headquarters, a meeting of union members from a private construction company, SBF, to establish the SBF shop-floor union and elect union representatives through a vote by UGTT/SBF members. The vote was supervised by the Tunis Regional Office, chaired here by Mr. Amor Bouderbala, a member of the UGGT Tunis Executive Board. Seventeen UGTT/SBF union representatives are running for seven elected positions. At the heart of the UGTT (Tunisian General Labor Union), at its historic headquarters on Mohamed Ali Square in Tunis.
