March 4, 2011: Slim Amamou, Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, tweeting while waiting for the press conference at the Presidential Palace in Carthage—the first address by the new Prime Minister, Mr. Béji Caïd Essebsi, to journalists, government ministers, and General Ammar. In a speech lasting nearly an hour, the new Tunisian Prime Minister notably accused the ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali—who is on the run in Saudi Arabia—of “high treason.” This offense is punishable by death.
