August 15, 2011: A demonstration took place in front of the UGGT headquarters, as union members refused to join the official UGTT demonstration held at the Labor Exchange under the leadership of the controversial Secretary-General JRAD; the union members organized a parallel demonstration at the historic UGGT headquarters before heading to Habib Bourguiba Avenue, where clashes with the police ensued.
