November 30, 2011: A day in Moncef Marzouki’s office at the National Assembly during the final crisis negotiations with Ennahdha to form a coalition government. The points of contention centered on the Assembly’s rules of procedure, as well as the roadmap and the “mini-constitution” intended to govern the functioning of the state during this transitional year. Moncef Marzouki, presented as President of the Republic, rejected Ennahdha’s proposals: “I will never accept a figurehead presidency. I will opt for a presidency with real powers within the framework of a system that will grant the three presidencies the role they deserve in managing the delicate phase the country is entering,” stated Moncef Marzouki, Secretary-General of the Congress for the Republic (CPR), Moncef Marzouki, stated on Wednesday on the party’s official Facebook page.
