February 20: Press conference at the National Union of Tunisian Journalists with the law firm representing journalist Nasreddine Ben Saïda, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Attounisia, who was imprisoned a week ago for publishing a photo of a nude woman. During the press conference, the lawyers emphasized that Nasreddine Ben Saïda had begun a hunger strike on Saturday in his cell at Mornaguia Prison. Attorney Khaled Krichi, for his part, stressed that his client’s continued detention was ordered by the public prosecutor’s office and not in response to a complaint. Consequently, this case is political in nature and not legal.
