September 15, 2012: A look at the situation at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis in the aftermath of the Salafist attack. Nearly 70 vehicles were burned and destroyed in the embassy parking lot, and there were numerous graffiti markings on the embassy compound. Overnight, a massive military presence consisting of tanks, armored vehicles, and heavily armed troops was deployed all around the embassy’s vast compound. The situation around the embassy has been calm since late yesterday.
