October 13, 2012: For Saïd Aïdi, the shared values of freedom, democracy, social justice, and human development are the values held in common by the parties that, together with the Al Joumhouri Party, will form the broadest possible coalition for the upcoming elections. But the people are waiting for solutions to issues of employment, regional development, and human development. The program and the solutions to be implemented must be clear, including who will be responsible and how this project will be carried out. The Palais des Congrès proved too small to accommodate the men and women who came to hear the political platform of the Al Joumhouri Republican Party in partnership with Al Massar. Al Joumhoury Party leaders Nejib Chebbi, Maya Jribi, Yassine Brahim, and Saïd Aïdi—surrounded by close political figures such as Ahmed Brahim, Samir Tayeb of Al Massar, and others from various political factions, such as Mohsen Marzouk representing Nida Tounes and Jawher Ben Mbarek representing Desstourna; Hamma Hammami, secretary-general of the PCOT; Communist Workers’ Party of Tunisia, and Mohamed Kilani, president of the Socialist Party of the Left. Members of parliament, including Nadia Chaabane, Khemais Ksilla, and Issam Chebbi, as well as numerous associations, attended the demonstration.
