October 13, 2012: Mohsen Marzouk reiterates that freedom and democracy are achieved through the struggle of the Tunisian people and that the Tunisian revolution is part of the ongoing history of the Tunisian people’s struggles. The union of democratic forces, including the Popular Front, must present joint slates in the upcoming elections and work together after the results are in to bring about the rebirth of our country. The Palais des Congrès proved too small to accommodate the men and women who came to hear the political platform of the Al Joumhoury Republican Party in partnership with Al Massar. Al Joumhoury party leaders Nejib Chebbi, Maya Jribi, Yassine Brahim, and Saïd Aïdi—surrounded by close political allies such as Ahmed Brahim, Samir Tayeb of Al Massar, and others from various political factions, such as Mohsen Marzouk representing Nida Tounes and Jawher Ben Mbarek representing Desstourna, Hamma Hammami, secretary-general of the PCOT, Communist Workers’ Party of Tunisia, and Mohamed Kilani, president of the Socialist Left Party. Members of parliament, including Nadia Chaabane, Khemais Ksilla, and Issam Chebbi, as well as numerous associations, attended the demonstration.
