At the call of the opposition troika—Nidaa Tounes, Al Jomhouri, and Al Massar— the chanted slogans denounced extremism and political violence—which they equated with terrorism and dictatorship—and called for the dissolution of the Committees for the Protection of the Revolution, which they hold responsible for the assassination of Lotfi Nagdh, the Nidaa Tounes coordinator in Tataouine, on October 18.
