June 22, 2014: The Tanit departed from the port of Tunis (La Goulette). Aboard the new CTN (Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation) vessel Tanit on a round-trip voyage from Tunis to Marseille. The return of Tunisian immigrants to France each summer represents a major source of tourism revenue and financial benefit for Tunisia. The Tanit entered service in 2012; it is 212 m long and 30 m wide, can reach a maximum speed of 27.5 knots, and has a capacity of 3,200 passengers and 1,060 vehicles.
