October 26, 2014: Election Day for the parliamentary elections; turnout was lower than in 2011, with only 3 million voters compared to 4 million in 2011. This year’s election of 217 members of parliament marks the beginning of a new political era in Tunisia that will last five years. At the polling stations, the festive atmosphere of 2011 is missing; voters are confused by a highly fragmented Tunisian political class, where the political clashes of the past three years have disappointed Tunisians.
