November 26, 2015: Security check at the theater entrance. As part of the JCC (Carthage Film Festival), the Arab-African Film Festival in Tunis, the film “Much Loved” by Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch had its first screening in a Muslim country. Two days after the terrorist attack on a presidential police bus just a few hundred meters from the JCC movie theaters, the screening of “Much Loved” became a double challenge. JCC Director Brahim Eltaief and Nabil Ayouch were determined to keep the screening on the schedule, just as they did for the rest of the festival. The theater filled with more than a thousand film enthusiasts eager to meet Nabil Ayouch and see the Arabic-language premiere of this excellent film, which portrays the reality of Moroccan sex workers in a raw yet highly skilled manner. The screening was followed by a press conference.
