At the headquarters of the UDC (Union of Unemployed Graduates) in Tunis, several dozen young people have been on a hunger strike for 24 days. As a last resort to defend their legitimate rights to work and a decent life, twenty-eight activists have been continuing their open-ended hunger strike since December 17, 2015. These young graduates, including eight women, are putting their health at risk in the “battle of empty stomachs”—also on behalf of all their comrades, who were repressed and placed on police watch lists by the former regime and whom post-revolutionary governments continue to abandon to their fate.
