October 11, 2019: On this final day of the official campaign for the second round of the presidential election, thousands of volunteers and supporters of the independent and unconventional candidate Kais Saied gathered on Habib Bourguiba Avenue. They sang songs and gave speeches in support of their candidate, who did not make any public appearances this week and let his supporters campaign on his behalf. Kais Saied finished first in the first round of the election and enjoys the support of major parties—including Ennahdha, Al Karama, and Attayr—that have called on voters to support him; he is therefore the favorite for the second round, given the expected transfer of votes.
