To help and relieve the strain on Tunisia’s healthcare system during this COVID crisis, Rayen Hamzaoui, the young mayor of Ezzahra, in the southern suburbs of Tunis, set up a field hospital with about twenty beds. By appealing to his constituents and local businesses, he was able to fund fully equipped medical beds with oxygen concentrators. The medical staff consists of volunteer healthcare professionals who are giving up their free time to work at this temporary hospital. Their exceptional dedication and enthusiasm have been praised by the public and patients alike.
