Driven from their homes a year ago following statements by Tunisian President Kais Saied, thousands of migrants have been cast out onto the streets and into the countryside by local authorities, facing the constant risk of being arrested and sent back to the Libyan or Algerian borders. These makeshift camps, set up on vacant lots or in fields, have been abandoned by international NGOs.
