October 4, 2024: The public march organized by the Tunisian Network for Rights and Freedoms to protest the political and electoral situation in Tunisia took place in the heart of Tunis amid a very heavy police presence. About a thousand demonstrators marched in Tunis, denouncing violations of civil liberties and calling for a boycott of Sunday’s election, the first round of the presidential elections. “Neither fear nor terror—power lies in the hands of the people,” the demonstrators chanted.
