In Mohammed Ismail’s weaving workshop, weavers work with silk and wool to produce beautiful textiles. The Mahdia Peninsula is the historic heart of the city, featuring the medina and, at its tip, the seaside cemetery and the borj. The residential area, known as Borj Erras, is a mix of palaces and traditional fishermen’s houses.
