November 30, 2017: In Ltaifa, 15 km from Bir Ali, Nasr Nasr, 30, welcomes us into his parents’ home to recount the circumstances of the tragedy he experienced at sea on October 8; he is one of the survivors. On the night of October 8–9, 2017, a fishing boat carrying more than 90 undocumented Tunisian migrants was “accidentally” struck (according to official sources), resulting in the deaths and disappearances of about 50 young Tunisians; the others were rescued by that same Tunisian vessel.
