January 9, 2015: About 300 people demonstrated Friday in Tunis in support of Tunisian journalists Sofiène Chourabi and Nadhir Ktari, whom the Libyan branch of the Islamic State (IS) claimed to have executed. “We are all Sofiène, we are all Nadhir,” read signs held by the demonstrators, most of whom were young journalists, many of whom refused to believe the announcement in the absence of official confirmation. In a statement published Thursday on jihadist forums, the Libyan branch of IS claimed to have “applied Allah’s law” against them. The photo purported to show the execution of one of them is blurry: one can make out a shot being fired toward an unidentified person who appears to be kneeling. “The information has still not been confirmed. We call on the Tunisian authorities to do their duty, at the very least by revealing the truth,” said Néji Bghouri, president of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT).

Dans un communiqué publié jeudi sur des forums jihadistes, la branche libyenne de l'EI affirme avoir "appliqué la loi d'Allah" à leur encontre. La photo censée montrer l'exécution de l'un d'eux n'est pas nette: on peut y deviner un tir partant en direction d'une personne non identifiée qui semble être agenouillée. "L'information n'a toujours pas été confirmée. Nous demandons aux autorités tunisiennes de faire leur devoir, au moins en dévoilant la vérité", a lancé le président du Syndicat national des journalistes tunisiens (SNJT), Néji Bghouri.
