The Great Southern Baths at the Makthar archaeological site—the remains of ancient Mactaris, in west-central Tunisia—are located in Makthar, a town on the northern edge of the Tunisian Ridge. The site is one of the largest in the country, and a large portion of it has not yet been the subject of archaeological research. In addition to the numerous ruins it houses within an archaeological park—such as the forum, the baths, and the Schola des Juvenes—a small museum displays various archaeological artifacts found on the site.
