Megalithic tombs at the Makthar archaeological site—the remains of ancient Mactaris, in central-western Tunisia—are located in Makthar, a town on the northern edge of the Tunisian mountain range. The site is one of the largest in the country, and a large portion of it has not yet been the subject of archaeological research. In addition to the numerous ruins housed within an archaeological park—such as the forum, the thermal baths, and the Schola des Juvenes—a small museum displays various archaeological artifacts found on the site.
