October 19: Press conference by Al Jouhmouri and Al Massar following the death of a Nidaa Tounes activist in Tatouine. Issam Chebbi, spokesperson for Al Jouhmouri, called for the dismissal of Interior Minister Ali Laârayedh, demanding a neutral, republican security force to ensure a peaceful democratic transition. The parties are also demanding that the committees for the protection of the revolution be dissolved and that an investigation be launched into them. They called for a protest sit-in on Monday, October 22.
