June 24, 2014: Mohamed shows a photo on his phone of an overcrowded boat he encountered at sea recently and which he reported to the Italian coast guard, who came to rescue them. Mohamed, a fishing boat captain in Ksibet El Mediouni near Monastir, smuggled hundreds of young undocumented migrants between Tunisia and Sicily between 1996 and 2002. Sentenced to six and a half years in prison, he has now returned to his job as a fishing boat captain.
