June 26, 2015: While shocked tourists continue to mill around the pool area, where hotel employees are cleaning up large amounts of blood. Terrorist attack at a hotel in the tourist area of Port El Kantaoui, north of Sousse. A young Tunisian terrorist opened fire for nearly half an hour on tourists, from the hotel beach all the way to the reception area, leaving a preliminary death toll of 39 among tourists and Tunisian employees, before being shot dead by security forces. The Tunisian Ministry of Health states that among the injured are people of British, Belgian, German, and Norwegian nationalities, among others.
