June 26, 2015: The Tunisian Minister of Tourism, who was on the scene, gave interviews to the press. A terrorist attack took place at a hotel in the Port El Kantaoui tourist area north of Sousse. A young Tunisian terrorist opened fire for nearly half an hour on tourists, from the hotel beach to the reception area, resulting in a preliminary death toll of 39 among tourists and Tunisian employees, before being shot dead by law enforcement. The Tunisian Ministry of Health states that among the wounded are people of British, Belgian, German, and Norwegian nationalities, among others.
