M33-446

January 27, 2016: Sabra Abaidi shows us around her home and explains her living conditions, along with her entire family—her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. This is the working-class, underprivileged neighborhood of Karma, located in the hills above Kasserine. Here, people live surrounded by trash and build their homes haphazardly, even down in the wadis. Families live crammed into houses that are made of solid materials but are extremely precarious—no windows, no doors, no heating, and no running water for some. The children’s only playground is the trash.
