August 2, 2019: Submission of candidacies for the early presidential election in Tunisia on September 15 at the ISIE office in Tunis Friday, August 2, 8:00 a.m. in front of the ISIE office, the Independent High Authority for Elections. On this first day of candidate registration, there was a rush of candidates at the 8:00 a.m. opening—nearly a dozen. Among the first was Mohamed Abbou, accompanied by his wife Samia—both members of parliament—running as a candidate for the Democratic Current party.
