Traditional distillation of rose petals in a house in the Nabeul region of Cap Bon. The rose water and rose essence are produced by distilling rose petals. The distillation is carried out very gently over a low flame, and the hydrosol flows into glass “Marie-Jeannes.” The distillate flows out slightly warm. 1 kg of petals yields approximately 1.5 liters of rose water.
