June 26, 2015: In shock, the hotel guests packed their bags and wanted to leave the area and return to their home countries. A terrorist attack took place at a hotel in the tourist area of Port El Kantaoui, north of Sousse. A young Tunisian terrorist opened fire for nearly half an hour on tourists, from the hotel beach all the way to the front desk, leaving a preliminary death toll of 39 among tourists and Tunisian employees, before being shot dead by law enforcement. The Tunisian Ministry of Health states that among the injured are people of British, Belgian, German, and Norwegian nationalities, among others.
