August 9, 2019: Youssef Chahed, the incumbent Prime Minister, on behalf of his party Tahya Tounes, which was founded a few months ago. This was the final day for candidates to file their nominations with the ISIE for the September 15 presidential election. There was a very large turnout, with 98 candidates ultimately filing, but only 25% of the applications passed the initial review.
