August 9, 2019: Mohsen Marzouk submitted his candidacy on behalf of his party, Machrou Tounes, on the final day for candidates to file with the ISIE for the September 15 presidential election. There was a very large turnout, with 98 candidates in the end, but only 25% of the applications passed the initial review.
